PostSubject: GM of DSW: Sal Bandini   GM of DSW: Sal Bandini Icon_minitimeFri Oct 14, 2011 5:49 am

Age: 71

Height: 6 feet
Weight: 171 lbs

Fredrick "Sal" Bandini was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 8, 1940. Sal didn't get a chance to know his father because his father was inducted into the draft in 1941 and died in 1943. Sal was raised by his grandparents and mother.

One day young Sal, who was 10 at the time, was walking to school and saw an announcement on a telephone pole. The announcement read: Come one, come all! Come see Killer Kowalski take on our very own Bubba "Big Bear" Jacobs. Pondering about what the two men were doing in the photo while at school he decided to ask his family if he could go. First thing out of school he ran to that telephone pole, grabbed the letter and headed straight home. Upon getting home he asked "Can I go, Can I go". His mother responded with a no. Sal begged his family further. The grandmother spoke up and decided she was curious too and if she was going she wanted someone to go with her, and since no one else would, then she would take Sal. It was that night after the match, that Sal decided he wanted to be a wrestler, and with his grandmothers help, he would be.

From the ages of 10-18 life was nothing but training for young Sal. He ran to school, he ran home, any chance he got he was lifting things around the farm. They didn't have much as far as weights so he would grab a log and tie up peach baskets with twine. At the age of 17 he was chiseled from head to toe, and had "the cardio of a jack rabbit."

At the age of 18 Sal moved away from home and joined the East Memphis Wresling Organization. Instantly the trainers took notice of Sal. He had all the makings of a future wrestler. Sal wrestled for the EMWO for about 5 years. In 1963 Sal took his chances on a promoter that he had met before a match. His name was Raymond Mondt. He continued to wrestle for Mondt for the next few years. In the later 1960's Sal went to the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Alliance. It was there which he met Johnny Valentine. Johnny and Sal became good friends.

On October 4, 1975 Sal was in a plane crash with Valentine and a few others. The plane crash claimed the life of Valentine, but Sal lived with a broken back. It took Sal a little longer than what was to be expected to recover. In 1976 he was in a car accident. In 1982 Sal was able to walk again but by then he was 42. Sal decided to open up his own wrestling school. He would do this for the next 29 years. In October of 2011 Sal with a little persuasion decided to open up his own federation. He called it Death Strike Wrestling, a name derived from Johnny Valentine's signature move, The Death Strike.
